Title: Dr Diane Holt, Reader in Management

Institution: Essex Business School, the University of Essex

Diane Holt (BSc, MSc, PhD) joined Essex Business School in November 2013. Previously she held posts at Queen's University Belfast (2007-2013) and Middlesex University Business School (1996-2007). Previous duties have included designing and delivering a suite of postgraduate Masters programmes in the sustainability area whilst at Queen's. She also spent 1.5 years seconded to Middlesex University's Dubai campus responsible for the roll out of the Business Programmes and she also held a role as Deputy Director of the campus. She was the principal investigator on the ESRC funded Trickle Out Africa Project which considers the impact of social and environmental enterprises on poverty alleviation and sustainable development across the 19 countries of Southern and Eastern Africa. During 2011 and 2012 she spent 24 weeks on fieldwork in Kenya, Zambia and South Africa as part of this research project. The online Trickle Out Directory now lists over 4000 social purpose ventures and has received almost 5 million hits during the last 12 months. She has also held grants from the British Academy and the Nuffield Foundation, and has won approximately £293K of external funding since 2009. She has published over 60 peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters and conference papers in the areas such as green supply chain management, sustainability discourse, ecopreneuring, and the role of business in development.

Title: Professor Boris Urban, Chair in Entrepreneurship

Institution: University of the Witwatersrand Johannesburg, Wits Business School

 Boris is a Professor at the Graduate School of Business Administration, Wits Business School (WBS), Faculty of Commerce, Law and Management, University of Witwatersrand. He has more than 25 years academic and professional experience in business, where he has practiced, taught and researched strategy, organisational behaviour and entrepreneurship. Boris was the first appointed Chair in Entrepreneurship (Lamberti) at WBS and is a NRF rated researcher.

Title: Professor Cecil Arnold,Graduate School Research Director

Institution: Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Business School

Prof Cecil Arnolds is the Research Director at the NMMU Business School and his career in teaching and academia spans over three decades.

Prof Arnolds is a member of the South Africa Institute for Management Scientists (SAIMS), and serves on the editorial review boards of the Management Dynamics Journal, The South African Journal of Labour Relations and The Journal of African Business.

He has conducted research and published papers internationally, such as his study on compensation, esteem valence and job performance in The International Journal of Human Resource Management. He has also published on the influence of employee commitment on job performance in the South African Journal of Business Management and the impact of job security, recognition, monetary incentives and training on the job performance of blue-collar employees in the South African Journal of Labour Relations.

Title: Professor Jurie van Vurren, Chair in Entrepreneurship

Institution: University of Pretoria

Professor van Vuuuren, as specialist in Entrepreneurship education and consultation, previously consulted the Canterbury Christ Church University, England, as well as the Brabant Center for Entrepreneurship, Technical University of Eindhoven, Holland on the feasibility of centers of entrepreneurship with great success. He also serves on the advisory board of the University of Fort Hare’s Center for Entrepreneurship.
